Bowing Fun

Bowing Fun generates random string crossing exercises for violin, viola, cello and double bass to develop sight-reading skills and agility. Exercises are printable and can be individually programmed for any level of difficulty. Included is a custom option for use in developing finger strength and pick speed on guitar and other string instruments.

  • Violin: A4 and E4 [Treble clef]
  • Viola: D4 and A4 [Alto clef]
  • Cello (open strings): D3 and A3 [Bass clef]
  • Cello (harmonics): D4 and A4 [Treble clef]
  • Double Bass (open strings): D3 and G3 [Bass clef]
  • Bass (harmonics): D4 and G4 [Treble clef]
  • Custom: any two notes, any clef

How will Bowing Fun help me?

Bowing fun will develop your sight-reading skills as well as your agility in playing your instrument. Since the Bowing Fun exercises can be programmed for any level of difficulty, you will be able to steadily improve your skills year after year. The exercises will also help you develop finger strength and if you're using a pick, you'll see your pick speed increase as well. Did we mention that the exercises are printable?

What instruments are included?

The latest version includes violin, viola, cello (for both open strings and harmonics) and double bass (for both open strings and harmonics). There is also a Custom setting for guitarists, banjo players, or mandolin players.
